Golden Axe:
To get the Golden Axe, give a Scallop Seashell to Pascal. To get the Scallop Seashell, you will be need to make some trades. Purchase a Red Turnip from Joan and trade it to Wendel for a Turban or Country Guitar. If Wendel gives you a Turban, trade it to Sahara for a Massage Chair or Red Vase. If Sahara gives you a Massage Chair, trade it to Tortimer on the next holiday to be give the Scallop Seashell.

Bonuses:
Unlock the following bonuses by performing the corresponding tasks:

Golden Bug Net - Catch one of each type of bug.
Golden Fishing Rod - Catch one of each type of fish.
Golden Shovel - Bury a regular shovel in the ground and dig it up after 24 hours.
Golden Slingshot - Shoot 15 items out of the sky and a Golden Slingshot will appear in the sky. Shoot it down to collect it.
Golden Roses - Plant red roses next to one another until black roses appear. Use the Golden Watering Can to water dying black roses and they will appear as golden the next day.
Golden Timer - Get the Golden Axe, Golden Bug Net, Golden Fishing Rod, Golden Shovel, Golden Slingshot, and Golden Watering Can. Then, Tortimer will give you the Golden Timer.
Golden Watering Can - Keep the environment perfect for sixteen consecutive days.
Museum Model - Donate the most items to the museum by the time it is completed.

Paper:
Unlock the following Paper by performing the corresponding tasks:

Academy paper - Sign up with the HRA. When they send your scores, it will be on the Academy Paper.
Bottle paper - Buy a bottle and paper from Tom Nook, then write a letter in the bottle and throw it into the ocean. The reply that you receive will be on Bottle Paper.
Formal paper - Win a special event. The note you receive with your prize will be on Formal Paper.
Fox paper - After becoming a Crazy Redd tent member, his weekly password will arrive on Fox Paper.
Insurance paper - Buy accident insurance from Lyle. After you need to use the insurance, your settlement will arrive with a note written on Insurance Paper.
Nook paper - Order an item from Tom Nook's catalogue. Your order will be sent with a letter on Nook Paper.
Snowman - Make a snowman, and the gift that it sends you will come with a note written on Snowman Paper.

Animal Crossing Island (Japanese version):
To get a whistle that call's Kapp'n and takes you to the Animal Crossing Island, connect to four friends houses and give Tom Nook 50 fossils.

Mr. Resetti's home:
To find Mr. Resetti's home, first restart the game twice to make Mr. Resetti appear. Then, use a shovel to hit the rocks until one of them cracks. Continue to hit that rock until you create a hole. Enter that hole to find Mr. Resetti's home.

Tom Nook's home:
To enter Tom Nook's home, go to the back of Tom Nook's shop between 12:00 and 2:00 P.M. Using a shovel, hit the back wall three times. Then, hit the front entrance once to be able to enter Tom Nook's home. You will see him wearing pajamas with a teddy bear.

Tom Nook's store expansions:
Obatin the following expansions for Tom Nook's store by performing the corresponding tasks:

Nook's Cranny - Available at start.
Nook 'n Go - Buy 25,000 Bells worth of merchandise.
Nookway - Buy 65,000 Bells worth of merchandise.
Nookingtons - Buy 240,000 Bells worth of merchandise and have a visiting friend buy something from Tom Nook.

Tom Nook's store point rewards:
Accumulate the following amounts of PIM points to unlock the corresponding rewards. PIM points are earned by making purchases at Tom Nook's store:

300 PIM points - Nook's Cranny model and store membership
3,000 PIM points - Nook' n Go model and 5% discount
10,000 PIM points - Nookway model and 10% discount
20,000 PIM points - Nookington's model and 20% discount

Restock Tom Nook's store:
To restock Tom Nook's store with all new furniture, save the game and go to your phone. Select "Reset Clock" and change the date.

Restocking items:
To restock an already purchased item from Tom Nook or the Able sisters, first purchase the item. Then, change the system date forward or backward, and then back to the original day when you purchased the item.

Befriending:
Become friends with the following characters by performing the corresponding tasks:

Blathers - Talk to him when he looks sad to find out that he does not like bugs. Continue to talk to him on every day until he stops talking about his bug phobia.
Brewster - Keep buying coffee from Brewster at the café every day.
Celeste - Talk to Celeste at the observatory every day and tell her "You're cute".
Sable - Go in the Able Sisters store, then find Sable near the sewing machine and talk to her every day.

Picture of Saharah:
To get a Picture of Saharah, get all carpet and wallpaper from her.

New haircuts styles:
To be offered a haircut style in the opposite gender of your character, get all six types of haircuts from Harriet on consecutive days. The following day, get another haircut from her and she will offer you the new haircut.

4-Leaf Clover:
4-Leaf Clovers will randomly appear with weed patches that are dug up. Use them as a hair accessory or bookmark.

Big Dot Shirt:
To get the Big Dot Shirt, go to the pattern page. Select a design and drag it to the bottom left hand corner. The Big Dot Shirt will now be in your pockets.

Birthday Cake:
When you play the game on your birthday, someone from your town will give you a Birthday Cake.

Balloon presents:
Balloon presents always arrives when the time ends in a "4" and the wind is heard.

Coconuts:
Coconuts will randomly appear on the beach.

Jacob's Ladder flower:
To make Jacob's Ladder flower appear at a random location in your town, get your town to "Perfect" status from Phyllis or Pelly.

Party Poppers:
To get Party Poppers, speak to Tortimer on New Year's Eve.

Roman Candles and Sparklers:
To get Roman Candles and Sparklers, talk to Tortimer during the Fireworks Show.

Snowman furniture:
To be awarded two Snowman furniture instead of one, find the two snowballs in your town. Roll them to a medium size and then stack them by walking one into the other at the bottom left of your town. You must make the snowman in the farthest lower right square and make him perfect to get two Snowman furniture.

Free furniture:
To get free furniture, check the recycling box at the town hall. Also, the lost and found at the Main Gate may have free furniture. Talk to Booker the dog to get to the lost and found.

Choose room color:
The room color in your first house will be the same as the Nintendo DS menu color. To choose a room color, change the Nintendo DS menu color before you move in.

Getting money:
To earn money you can fish, catch bugs, and look for treasures. When fishing, only keep fish that are worth at least 1,000 Bells. When catching bugs, catch them by listening to their sounds or watch for their colors.

Easy money:
To easily get money, go the bank and save all the money you have into your account. Then, save the game and turn off the DS. Change the system date to ten or more years later and your money should go up to 99,999 Bells.
